Access Policy

Brunswick Art Gallery is committed to providing the highest standards of service and the widest possible access to its art collection. As such, we have provided the following information that outlines access to our gallery, as well as any access limitations and how we work to overcome them.


Car Parking and Vehicle Access

The Brunswick Art Gallery is situated within the Brunswick Shopping centre. The shopping centre is in the open air, pedestrianised and houses an underground NCP carpark which can be accessed via Marchmont Street. The carpark has over 130 spaces, over 20 disabled parking bays and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can book a space online via the www.ncp.co.uk/prebook. There is also a lift for access up to the shopping Centre.  

On-street disabled parking for blue badge holders who need direct vehicle access to the gallery is also available on Handel Street and is situated directly in front of the gallery and the Brunswick Centre management suite. There is a ramp with slight incline for wheel chair access from Handel street on to the Brunswick sidewalk.

Loading and unloading is permitted via the service road off Marchmont Street, but Handel street can be useful when collecting larger pieces of artwork.


Train Station / Taxis

The Brunswick Art Gallery is situated 0.1 miles from Russell Square tube station and 0.4 miles from Kings Cross mainline. The closest main Taxis rank can be found at Kings Cross Station though black cabs can be hailed very easily by Russell Square just 2 mins walk.


Main Entrance

The main entrance to the gallery is located at the rear of the Brunswick Centre on Handel street just two doors along from the rear entrance to Waitrose. The entranced is also accessed off Marchmont street. Double doors open inwards and in warmer months, both doors are usually open; however, in winter months, both doors or one door may be closed. Should you require double door access a member of staff will be more than happy to help.  


Inside the Gallery

The gallery is easily accessible and wheelchair and mobility scooter friendly. Spread over one ground floor with a viewing space that measures 62 feet long by 32 feet wide with completely unobstructed floorspace. Seating is available in the gallery for those who finding standing for too long difficult. There is no permanent seating for visitors; but the gallery is happy to provide temporary seating upon request.


Toilet/ Changing Facilities

There are no public toilet or changing facilities at the gallery. The nearest accessible public toilets and baby changing facilities are located just a short walk away in the shopping centre and are clearly signposted.


Guide dogs / Disability Assistance Dogs

All well behaved dogs are very welcome at the gallery, whether assistance dogs or family pets.

Brunswick Art Gallery maintains a user-friendly, up-to-date website that features our full range of original paintings, as well as a selection of bronzes, sculpture and signed limited edition prints to provide another access channel for those wishing to view the gallery’s collection.

Wherever possible, a combination of colours and fonts are purposefully sized, selected and contrasted to be easily readable. Large, high-resolution images are also provided for each artwork to provide the best possible viewing experience for all visitors to our website.
