Debbi Clark

‘Photography is my world, it takes me away from the pain of reality’ says Debbi Clark, whose first images were of the homeless boys she used to hang out with in Soho in the 80s, which later got her into Central St Martins College where she studied art. She acquired a great insight into the world of fashion and style and fell in love with photographic arts and then went on to gain a BA Hons in photography at the London College of Printing.

After leaving college Debbi went on to cut her teeth as assistant to the prolific fashion photographer Iain McKell, shooting for such high profile magazines as Vogue, Homme, Italian Vogue, Tatler, Face and ID. Debbi went on to enjoy a varied and exciting career shooting fashion all over the world. Amongst many high points was an exhibition of her works at the famous Proud Gallery in Camden.

Alongside photography, Debbi has strong philanthropic efforts, with her latest being an art foundation set up to support children from 5-21 who face no access to privileged art schools. “It’s not like arts and crafts; everything we deliver is highly skilled. Through our patrons and ambassadors, we have access to people who come and deliver courses at a high level.” HVH Arts, or Sir Herbert Von Herkomer Arts Foundation is named after a musician who believed that every child should have access to arts and music. Over 400 underprivileged children with free access to skilled arts, with courses including photography, film making and music production.

Debbi has exhibited at Proud Gallery at the Strand, Alon Zakaim Fine Art Gallery in Dover Street and a private members club in Pall Mall, London.
