“Mindscapes“ explores the artist’s connection drawn between art and the psychological mind. Mike usually paints experimentally, trying to avoid conscious thought and keeping his work spontaneous and emotionally based. Mike escapes from the reality of his rational thought, attempting to explore the imagination in his deepest unconscious mind.

During the artist creative process, Mike mostly uses acrylic paints, inks, and watercolours. After painting, he would put a layer of scumble varnish on the top. The major influence of Mike’s work has been a show called the “outsider“ at the Hayward Gallery in 1979.
