‘WE USE WORDS EVERYDAY, WE READ, SPEAK, SHOUT AND THINK THEM EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY. THE SAME WITH TYPOGRAPHY, WORDS ON A PAGE OR SCREEN. THEY ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECTS TO HUMAN LIFE, COMMUNICATION AND IMAGINATION. THE TYPE STYLES COLLECTION CELEBRATES THESE FORMS. BEAUTIFULLY REIMAGINED, GIVING WORDS THEIR OWN UNIQUE PERSONALITY’. Vic Lee

I have won a few awards for the things I do, which is marvellous darling, but really I get such a kick from working with awesome people, clients and companies. There is nothing better than that, Plus the dusting of awards can be a bind.

I love to talk about what I do at conferences and events. In my personal life I rarely talk about my work. I think there needs to be a balance with being an artist some of the time and being a mate and a friend the other. I am fascinated by people and stories, I have this ability to draw out inner secrets and rarely told anecdotes. You can learn so much by listening, at times I think it’s a dying art. But that is how connections are made. Maybe that’s why I call myself a storyteller. Because I have heard so many. Which is why I like to think my work brings people together.

People often ask, ‘How long did that take to paint?’

I always say the same thing - 50 years. I have always been an artist, as a child, maybe more a playful one, but an artist none the less. Though my parents might beg to differ as they cleaned up the mess I made. Little has changed, but I clean up my own mess now.

I have worked professionally as an artist for 15 years now. Having been commissioned to create elaborate pen drawn murals for the World’s biggest brands and corporations. I have worked on collaborations as an invited artist for the likes of The Famous Grouse, Nike, McLarens and Brompton Bicycles and have a dedicated range in The Tate.  I light heartedly say I have a permanent exhibition there, even if its in the shop.)

My art has taken me around the World and I have been to some incredible places and experienced things I would have only dreamed of when I started. I have met the most diverse, unique and friendliest people along the way and all of this has led me to my own collections.

I have always had a love of architecture, where and how we live. My first collection, Londonereas, was a series of London centric limited edition prints of local places we live. This vast collection of works has since sold out with collectors across the planet.

Continuing this theme through my ‘Sanctuary’ series of places we live, maybe in an imaginative way, alongside my ‘Flural’ collection. Natures finest. And introducing my signature style of black and white storytelling with my English style elaborations in wordsmithery. ‘Typestyles’.

These collections are who I am, my calm, passion, history and persona.

I hope you enjoy them!
