Will Carr

Inspired by the harmonic movements of the wind, Will Carr creates kinetic wind sculptures that explore the interaction between geometry and form within their environment. The graceful complexity of his work captures perfectly the natural flow and balance of our world. With a background in engineering as well as a knowledge and understanding of weather systems and thermal dynamics, Will has naturally developed a reputation for abstract science-based sculptures.

With a reputation for abstract science based sculptures; Will’s background in engineering as well as knowledge of weather and wind flow has led to a natural progression into kinetic sculptures.

Having grown up in the countryside on a working farm, Will has been inspired by the complex synergy within the world around us. His passions include paragliding, rock climbing and farming, which complement his interest in understanding the natural world. ‘Play’ is an important part of developing ideas using miniature wind sculptures, models and microscope exploration, as well as computer modelling.

By working with stainless and weathered steel, Will is able to create intricate yet large scale pieces of art for public spaces, private gardens and sculpture exhibitions.
